PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph “appears to be doing fine” according to coach Mike Tomlin Jerome Bettis Jersey White , but Rudolph remains in the concussion protocol following an illegal hit by Baltimore safety Earl Thomas.Rudolph left last weekend’s overtime loss to Baltimore in the third quarter after Thomas hit Rudolph in the chin with his helmet. Rudolph was knocked unconscious on the play but was able to slowly make his way to the sideline.Tomlin made it a point Tuesday to say the medical cart that malfunctioned after it pulled up next to Rudolph didn’t play a factor in the decision to let Rudolph try and make it to the locker room on his own.“He walked off the field because he chose to walk off the field and because the medical experts were comfortable with his ability to walk off the field and his safety in it,” Tomlin said. “Whether or not the cart was functioning is irrelevant to the fact that he walked off the field.”Rudolph went to a hospital for evaluation before being cleared to go home. Rudolph was at the team’s facility on Monday, but Tomlin declined to give a timetable on Rudolph’s potential availability for Sunday’s visit to Los Angeles to play the Chargers. Rookie undrafted free agent Devlin Hodges will start at quarterback if Rudolph is unable to play.Hodges played well after coming in, completing 7 of 9 passes for 68 yards. He also scrambled for a 21-yard gain that set up a go-ahead field goal in the fourth quarter.“Obviously James Conner Jersey White , he lacks a lot of experience in the things that go with experience, but I like his demeanor,” Tomlin said of Hodges. “I like his ‘Steady Eddie’ attitude and approach to it. I think that is an asset to him and us in the present circumstance.”Tomlin said he was “comfortable” with the quarterbacks on the roster. That makes it no sure thing that he’ll play against the Jets on Sunday, but at least things are moving the right way this time around.Tight end Vance McDonald was also a full participant as he makes his way back from a concussion James Conner Jersey , but cornerback Joe Haden was added to the injury report. This is now his third ACL injury during his football career. Makes you wonder how much longer he can continue playing football with three major injuries to his knees. As for Parker John Elway Jersey White , he was on the Broncos roster throughout the offseason, Training Camp, and Preseason. However, he was among the cuts made to trim the roster down to 53-players. He went unclaimed through waivers and ended up on the Broncos 10-man practice squad. Now, Parker has a spot on the Broncos 53-man roster after the injury to Butt. Parker was an undrafted free agent out of the University of Albany for the San Diego Chargers back in 2015. Since then, he has been on the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs rosters before joining the Broncos roster. His only regular season action came in 2016 when he played in 9 games for the Kansas City Chiefs. He totaled just 1 catch for 6 yards during that stint. The Broncos tight ends now consist of the oft-injured Jeff Heuerman who is your starter, Matt LaCosse who is now your number two tight end and Brian Parker who is now your third tight end. The Broncos tight end unit is likely the weakest in the entire NFL and I wouldn’t be surprised if they decided to bring in a veteran early next week to help replace Butt’s spot on the roster. While there’s been word of interest from the Jets Womens Royce Freeman Jersey , it does not look like Peyton Manning will be the team’s next General Manager.Thoughts that he might entertain the prospect were tied in part to his relationship with Jets head coach Adam Gase after the two men worked together with the Broncos. While that relationship might not have led to Manning joining the organization, Gase told Albert Breer of SI.com that Sam Darnold has been asking a lot of questions about Manning as he prepares to play quarterback in Gase’s offense for the first time.“He watches a lot of the old stuff — he’s watched a lot of Peyton’s stuff,” Gase said. “He’s watched almost all of our cut-ups. The good thing is we’ve got a pretty healthy library of examples … He’s watched so much of it he can bring up certain plays from different seasons to where he’ll ask a question — ‘Hey, what made him do this? Instead, Ben Roethlisberger threw a short pass that Antonio Brown turned into a 31-yard touchdown with 10 seconds left, and the Bengals’ litany of last-second losses grew with another mindboggling finish.Brown’s catch-and-run into the end zone gave Pittsburgh a 28-21 victory Sunday that evened up the AFC North and left the Bengals (4-2) trying to figure out what happens next. I think being a young head coach and being a young coach is a different deal. I’m not a young coach. And I took great pride in coaching my guys and being the best group on the field every day in the meeting rooms or on the field,” Joseph said.”So, in my mind every coach would feel that way and every coach would want to coach that way. So, I was cautious in interrupting coaches’ drills, interrupting coaches’ ways of doing things because I had an experienced staff.”That led to the notion that Joseph was still acting like an assistant coach last year while offensive coordinator Mike McCoy continued operating as though he were still a head coach before getting fired at midseason.Joseph vehemently denies that was the case.”I thought Mike did a great job every week of accepting his role and we talked every week about the game plan, so that’s not true,” Joseph said.”I worked for a lot of coaches who didn’t micromanage me, Gary Kubiak Dalton Risner Jersey , Marvin Lewis, great guys who have won a lot of games. So, that’s not true. Our staff last year we discussed every game plan that we put forward and again it was the best thing for our players at the time.”So, our thought process early on was to be an explosive offense. We were 3-1. It wasn’t perfect. But it was working. Now, turning the ball over, not protecting the quarterback, those things affected how we played on offense. But not Mike trying to be in total control, that’s not true.”Still, Joseph said he has to coach his coaches better, and by that, he means challenging them.”I don’t coach the receivers, I don’t coach the running backs or offensive line. I’m a defensive backs guy, I’m a defensive guy. So, I think asking the right questions and triggering more thought process on how we can do things better. Or simply seeing it differently than the coach and saying, `Why don’t we do it that way?”’ Joseph said.”Now, I can be wrong, but I think simply asking more questions is a simple way of helping the coaches get better and helping our football team get better and not letting anything slide.”Joseph realizes he won’t get another chance if things don’t change.”Winning football games is a must this year,” he said. ”We have to do that. That’s why they hired me.”And why Elway stuck with him.— Free agent linebacker Deiontrez Mount allegedly assaulted an Uber driver on Sunday morning in Denver.According to Stephanie Butzer of The Denver Channel, Mount was cited for simple assault and released after an incident that occurred around 6 a.m.Mount and another person had been traveling in an Uber when Mount cancelled the ride. to leave the car, which he refused to do by asking for a different drop off point instead. After moving the car to a different spot, the request to leave the vehicle was again refused as the driver got out of the car and opened up the passenger door. Mount then “initiated a physical altercation” with the driver, who fought back and blooded Mount’s nose.Mount then followed the driver and continued the physicality before the driver managed to re-enter his vehicle, drove away and called police.Mount has appeared in 12 career games for the Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans. He was a fifth-round pick of the Titans in 2015. He appeared in a career-high seven games with Denver in 2017, recording seven tackles. He tore his Achilles last May and was waived/injured by Denver in June. He reverted to the team’s injured reserve list and became a free agent earlier this month when he was non-tendered by the Broncos.

PHOENIX (AP) — Former Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph has been hired as the defensive coordinator on new Arizona Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury’s staff.General manager Steve Keim had said he wanted a veteran defensive coordinator to pair with Kingsbury Joe Flacco Jersey White , who has no NFL coaching experience and will focus on offense.Joseph was fired on Dec. 31 after two seasons as coach of the Broncos. He has 14 years of coaching experience in the NFL, 12 on the defensive side of the ball.In addition, the Cardinals announced the hiring of Bill Davis, who has considerable experience as a defensive coordinator, as linebackers coach and said Jeff Rodgers will return as special teams coordinator.Joseph has just one season’s experience as a defensive coordinator, in 2016 with Miami. His Dolphins ranked 29th in total defense (out of 32 teams) and 18th in points allowed.Still, he was pursued by more than one NFL team looking for a defensive coordinator following his dismissal by Denver.Joseph, 49 Womens Courtland Sutton Jersey , ran a 3-4 defense, the scheme that Keim said he wanted to return to because it best fit the Cardinals’ personnel. Oakland used two of its three first-round picks on Mullen’s Clemson teammate, defensive end Clelin Ferrell, and Alabama running back Josh Jacobs.“Being on the field before the game was just like, ‘Wow,'” Mayock said. “I said to somebody, ‘Man I’d take five of these guys and go home right now.’ And here we are. We got three of them, so it’s exciting. It really is.”Mullen visited the Raiders prior to the draft and likes the idea of being reunited with Ferrell and playing with Jacobs and safety Johnathan Abram, Oakland’s third pick in Thursday’s first round.“This is awesome, man, being able to get back with my boy,” Mullen. “We have to get to work. They’re going to get a great player, especially with me and Clelin and even John Abram, because that’s like my best friend. Oakland also tendered Daryl Worley, who started nine games in 2018.The Raiders didn’t have a third-round pick but stockpiled additional selections in the latter rounds, something Mayock had hinted he wanted to do.Oakland began the day moving back three spots from 35th to 38th in a trade with the Jaguars. The Raiders also acquired Jacksonville’s fourth-round pick (109th overall) in exchange for a fifth (140) and seventh (235).Mayock continued to work the phones and made another deal moments later with the Bills.
