He described it as “preventative maintenance” (a description most people put on things like haircuts rather than leg surgeries). While the timing of the procedure is unknown, he’s expected to be ready for offseason work.At the moment, their only healthy quarterback is Case Keenum, since Alex Smith is recovering from the badly broken leg which is expected to keep him out for the season, if not longer.McCoy created some concern when he showed up on crutches to give the “start your engines” call at yesterday’s IndyCar event in Austin, Texas.
.@TexasFootball fans know this guy well.Former @TexasLonghorns QB Colt McCoy gave the command to start engines at @COTA. pic.twitter.com/p6pPUJLeA2— IndyCar on NBC (@IndyCaronNBC) March 24, 2019

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph “appears to be doing fine” according to coach Mike Tomlin Jerome Bettis Jersey White , but Rudolph remains in the concussion protocol following an illegal hit by Baltimore safety Earl Thomas.Rudolph left last weekend’s overtime loss to Baltimore in the third quarter after Thomas hit Rudolph in the chin with his helmet. Rudolph was knocked unconscious on the play but was able to slowly make his way to the sideline.Tomlin made it a point Tuesday to say the medical cart that malfunctioned after it pulled up next to Rudolph didn’t play a factor in the decision to let Rudolph try and make it to the locker room on his own.“He walked off the field because he chose to walk off the field and because the medical experts were comfortable with his ability to walk off the field and his safety in it,” Tomlin said. “Whether or not the cart was functioning is irrelevant to the fact that he walked off the field.”Rudolph went to a hospital for evaluation before being cleared to go home. Rudolph was at the team’s facility on Monday, but Tomlin declined to give a timetable on Rudolph’s potential availability for Sunday’s visit to Los Angeles to play the Chargers. Rookie undrafted free agent Devlin Hodges will start at quarterback if Rudolph is unable to play.Hodges played well after coming in, completing 7 of 9 passes for 68 yards. He also scrambled for a 21-yard gain that set up a go-ahead field goal in the fourth quarter.“Obviously James Conner Jersey White , he lacks a lot of experience in the things that go with experience, but I like his demeanor,” Tomlin said of Hodges. “I like his ‘Steady Eddie’ attitude and approach to it. I think that is an asset to him and us in the present circumstance.”Tomlin said he was “comfortable” with the quarterbacks on the roster. Paxton Lynch, signed to the practice squad last month Womens Jerome Bettis Jersey , is the only other quarterback with the team after the Steelers released Taryn Christion on Monday. The visit to face the Chargers gives the Steelers a bit of deja vu. They traveled to San Diego in 2015 with Michael Vick — who wasn’t even with the team until the end of training camp — starting. Pittsburgh won on a touchdown on the final snap. It’s one of the reasons Tomlin isn’t panicking even with his team at 1-4.“I have been in this thing long enough that it is all pretty much a re-run to me,” Tomlin said. While Rudolph’s status is uncertain, running back Jaylen Samuels‘ is not. Samuels will be out about a month after surgery for a sprained left knee. Rookie Benny Snell Jr. will serve as James Conner’s primary backup against the Chargers.“He has been highly productive in special teams and usually production in special teams is an indication of offense and defensive readiness,” Tomlin said of Snell.“This guy has been making tackles on coverage units and stuff. It has been really impressive Jerome Bettis Jersey , but obviously we drafted him to play running back. He will probably get an opportunity to get some more exposure there because of the injury to Jaylen and I am sure he will be excited about it.” Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster went from full practice participation last Wednesday to limited participation on Thursday and not playing against the Bills in last Sunday night’s loss. Smith-Schuster was listed as limited on Wednesday due to the knee injury that’s kept him out of the last four games, but he moved up to a full practice on Thursday. As noted, Smith-Schuster’s return to a full workload last week was followed by a quick turn in the other direction. That makes it no sure thing that he’ll play against the Jets on Sunday, but at least things are moving the right way this time around.Tight end Vance McDonald was also a full participant as he makes his way back from a concussion James Conner Jersey , but cornerback Joe Haden was added to the injury report. He didn’t practice due to a foot injury, so his status will be something to watch when the team practices on Friday.

Some of it by his own making, and some of it exaggerated by the media. When you’re arguably the best receiver football and have a larger than life personality which you express on social media as often as Brown does, the kind of coverage you get is somewhat understandable. With his very vocal exit from Pittsburgh this offseason, along with dying his mustache blonde and putting out multiple videos demanding he be paid what he’s worth, he became quite a punching bag, especially from Pittsburgh media. So, when Brown was placed on NFI to begin camp, he wasn’t treated like any other player who had an injury. He was treated like ‘here we go, it’s AB being AB’ and that continued with every detail that was revealed about his injury. While most players would receive sympathy for suffering injuries to his feet, somehow Brown was fair game to be laughed at and ridiculed for it.In fairness to some, it was a bizarre injury. Frostbite? On his feet? From a cryogenic chamber? Wut?Then while we’re all waiting each day to see if and when he will return to the field, it’s revealed that he has a grievance with the NFL about his helmet. That turned the talk up a few notches and it was already pretty high. This new issue was lumped in with the foot issue as the cause for his absence from camp, with some reports even suggesting he was threatening to retire if he didn’t get to wear his old Schutt Air Advantage helmet. Gruden didn’t buy into the talk of Brown’s supposed retirement and his agent Drew Rosenhaus said flat out that those reports had “no legitimacy” and that the seriousness of his grievance was way overblown.“It was just getting healthy. The helmet wasn’t a focal point as much as the feet were,” said Rosenhaus. “I mean he had a major injury. And this is not a typical injury for a football team to deal with so he was off seeing an expert to get lasers. It’s different treatment for frostbite and a burn like that. It wasn’t his intent to leave the team for the time that he did, he’s always had a good line of communication with the club and the Raiders and the NFL are actually working very closely with us right now to get the helmet resolved.”Neither Rosenhaus nor Brown are saying exactly how the injury occurred because they could pursue legal action against the cryogenic therapy company where the injury was suffered.Brown is not ready to practice yet, but he showed up late into practice Tuesday just to clear the air a little bit.“I’m extremely grateful to be here,” said Brown. “Just dealing with a lot of adversity. I’m excited to be back and see my teammates and get in the groove of things shortly.”That’s as close to a timeline as Brown would give as to when he will return to practice Antonio Brown Jersey White , adding that he feels “A lot better. Working towards 100%. It’s been a process with the feet. Any time you got a lot of blisters and it’s hard to change direction and cut and run and do what I do naturally, but I‘m going to start from the good foot, I’m been away getting a lot of work, so I’m excited to just move forward.”Among the reports out there with regard to Brown was that he had not been in contact with the team. Gruden didn’t deny this when I asked him about it after the game Saturday, and he has long said he didn’t know what the details or severity of Brown’s injury was. Rosenhaus is saying they had constant contact with the team and Gruden is saying he knew all along where Brown was and what was going on with him.“We’ve had a pretty good understanding of the foot injury,” said Gruden. “We know where he’s been, we know what he’s been through, we’re thrilled to have him back and obviously we think he’s a great player and we’re anxious to get the men together and get rolling.”The fans will obviously want to believe everything that was said today that everything has been fine and all the media reports were fake news, but there was plenty of truth in those reports. Even if some of them may have veered into hyperbole bordering on misinformation. The helmet thing was very likely overblown. As frustrated as Brown may have been, there’s no way he was going to retire over this. He may have tried to sneak his old helmet onto the field, but whatever. The timing of the appeal hearing was a coincidence with regard to the mystery of his prolonged absence.“Hopefully he’ll be back on the field soon, but the injury was the reason that he was away from the team, one. Two, the helmet is something we’ve been working on for months,” said Rosenhaus. “And we’ve been working with the NFL and working with the Raiders to figure out a solution.”They think they’ve found that solution. Brown can use a bit of a loophole by obtaining a Schutt Air Advantage helmet that has been manufactured in the last ten years. According to Rosenhaus, they’ve found several.“We’ve located helmets that have been manufactured within the last ten years so that eliminates the ten year rule. Now we have to get those reconditioned and then we have to get them certified by NOCSAE and then the NFL has to approve it. So, it’s all reasonable.”The NFL says eliminating the use of his old helmet is a safety issue. Rosenhaus and Brown say NOT using it is a safety issue. It’s about the visibility the old helmet provides. Not for catching the ball, but for catching the defender bearing down on him.“He’s comfortable with this helmet, he can see people trying to hit him Bo Jackson Jersey White , take his head off, knock him out, knock him out of the game,” said Rosenhaus. “It’s a very physical game, especially for a superstar like Antonio and having the proper helmet not only to protect you physically, but to also be able to use it visually was important to him. That’s the only thing he’s played in.”The most important thing about all of this is it sounds like it will all be resolved soon. Gruden finally said with confidence that Brown will be ready for the season from his foot injury – something he was unwilling to say before – and AB is resolving his helmet grievance as well. All’s well that ends well and it sounds like this drama will be winding down shortly and everyone can get back to focusing on preparing for the upcoming season. Follow @LeviDamien “NFL” apparently stands for “No F–kin’ Loophole.”Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the NFL decided to require testing of the Schutt AiR Advantage after previously informing the Raiders that, if receiver Antonio Brown could find one less than 10 years old, he could use it. The helmet failed the test.Advantage helmets that had been made within the last decade, including an AiR Advantage made in 2014 for film. NOCSAE certified one specific helmet, made in 2010, for use. But then the NFL told the Raiders that the helmet would have to be tested before it could be used.Brown’s representatives recently sent the helmet for testing. Earlier today, Brown was informed that the helmet failed the test. The Schutt AiR Advantage was not among 11 models that became prohibited this year. Brown wasn’t able to use the helmet he’s worn his entire NFL career because it’s more than 10 years old, and NOCSAE will not certify any helmet that is more than 10 years old.To summarize: The NFL wins again. That said, the source informed PFT that we haven’t heard the last of Brown on this issue. To find out what that means, refill the tub of popcorn and stay tuned.
Broncos place tight end Jake Butt on the IR and sign tight end Brian Parker off their practice squad The Denver Broncos announced on Saturday that they placed second-year tight end Jake Butt on the season ending IR list and promoted tight end Brian Parker off their practice squad.Butt tore his ACL during practice this week and will miss the season. This is now his third ACL injury during his football career. Makes you wonder how much longer he can continue playing football with three major injuries to his knees. As for Parker John Elway Jersey White , he was on the Broncos roster throughout the offseason, Training Camp, and Preseason. However, he was among the cuts made to trim the roster down to 53-players. He went unclaimed through waivers and ended up on the Broncos 10-man practice squad. Now, Parker has a spot on the Broncos 53-man roster after the injury to Butt. Parker was an undrafted free agent out of the University of Albany for the San Diego Chargers back in 2015. Since then, he has been on the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs rosters before joining the Broncos roster. His only regular season action came in 2016 when he played in 9 games for the Kansas City Chiefs. He totaled just 1 catch for 6 yards during that stint. The Broncos tight ends now consist of the oft-injured Jeff Heuerman who is your starter, Matt LaCosse who is now your number two tight end and Brian Parker who is now your third tight end. The Broncos tight end unit is likely the weakest in the entire NFL and I wouldn’t be surprised if they decided to bring in a veteran early next week to help replace Butt’s spot on the roster. While there’s been word of interest from the Jets Womens Royce Freeman Jersey , it does not look like Peyton Manning will be the team’s next General Manager.Thoughts that he might entertain the prospect were tied in part to his relationship with Jets head coach Adam Gase after the two men worked together with the Broncos. While that relationship might not have led to Manning joining the organization, Gase told Albert Breer of SI.com that Sam Darnold has been asking a lot of questions about Manning as he prepares to play quarterback in Gase’s offense for the first time.“He watches a lot of the old stuff — he’s watched a lot of Peyton’s stuff,” Gase said. “He’s watched almost all of our cut-ups. The good thing is we’ve got a pretty healthy library of examples … He’s watched so much of it he can bring up certain plays from different seasons to where he’ll ask a question — ‘Hey, what made him do this? Or why did he think this way?’ He’s really gone through a lot of this stuff already.”Gase said Darnold and Manning haven’t spoken directly, but he hopes that a conversation where Darnold can pose his questions directly can take place “eventually.”
Washington left tackle Trent Williams had a growth removed from his head earlier this offseason and posted video from another medical procedure on Thursday. The video Dwayne Haskins Jersey White , which was noted by J.P. Finlay of NBCSportsWashington.com, shows Williams in bed wearing the socks given to patients in medical facilities while two people, one of whom is in scrubs, stand by a table at the foot of the bed.Williams didn’t provide any details about what’s going on, but Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the procedure was scheduled to clean up the area around the scar from his previous surgery. It is not considered a major issue, but it’s unclear what it means for Williams’ return to the field.Williams was not at Washington’s minicamp amid dueling reports that he is unhappy about his contract and that he is unhappy about how the team handled his medical situation. Team president Bruce Allen said he spoke to Williams and knows the truth, but did not share it. As Antonio Brown tries to talk his way out of Pittsburgh, he’s also potentially talking his way out of other possible NFL cities before he even arrives. Which could set the stage for a fight between player and team that will make the Eagles vs. T.O. look like a mild dinner-table disagreement.Although Brown has largely curtailed his social-media agitation since Mr. Big Chest met with the Steelers’ Mr. Big, Brown’s comments on HBO’s coupled with his remarks to ESPN will make it harder, not easier, for the Steelers to find a trade partner. Which will make it more likely that the Steelers eventually will give Brown the “play for us or play for no one” ultimatum, based by the leverage that comes from $11.4 million in unearned signing bonus money that Brown, if he chooses not to play for the Steelers, would have to repay.Brown nevertheless seems to be confident that the Steelers will take the best trade offer, from a team he finds suitable, that’s on the table before Brown’s $2.5 million roster bonus becomes due on March 17.“Why wouldn鈥檛 they not trade me?” Brown told ESPN. “They gotta pay me $2.5 million on March 17. If I invoice you March 17, $2.5 million that you gotta pay me, would you pay it or would you get somebody else to pay it? So it鈥檚 what — pretty much what鈥檚 good for their business. . . .聽They want to start a fresh offseason with no bad blood so their team could just focus on football. No distraction from any player. So I think they鈥檒l get it done.”Although Steelers G.M. Kevin Colbert told this week that the team could pay the money and still trade Brown later Womens Bryce Love Jersey , the Steelers could pursue other strategies. They could suspend him for conduct detrimental to the team, place him on the reserve/suspended list, take the position that he’s not on the roster, and refuse to pay the money. They also could regard his comments about wanting out of Pittsburgh coupled with his remarks about not needing football as an indication that he intends to retire absent a trade, and they can place him on the reserve/retired list, forcing him to file a grievance based on the argument that he actually isn’t retired, and that he’s committed to playing for the Steelers.Or they could just pay the money and use it as added leverage to compel him to show up and play for the Steelers this year, since the $2.5 million would be added to the $11.4 million that he already has received but not earned.to turn the page on a potential distraction, and thus he’s willing to make as much of a distraction as possible in order to get the Steelers to move on, even if he resents being regarded as a distraction. Unless the planets align before March 17, with a team for which Brown is willing to play giving the Steelers what they want and giving Brown what he wants and being willing to assume the risk that a guy who says “if they wanna play, they going to play by my rules” means what he says, the Steelers will have to decide whether to pay Brown the money and keep trying to trade him or pay Brown the money and ultimately keep him, even if he doesn’t want to stay, with a plan to embrace the distraction and use the $13.9 million in unearned pay as leverage to get him to realize how good he has it and move forward. However it plays out, Brown is openly daring the Steelers to play hardball. At some point, maybe they will.

Since the signing of the newest Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), rookies signing their first contracts are more of a formality than breaking news. Gone are the days of Sam Bradford cashing in on a lucrative rookie contract without even stepping foot onto an NFL gridiron. It isn’t as if there aren’t negotiations which take place between the player/agent and the team, but the base salaries are slotted based on round drafted, etc. What is negotiable are things like signing bonuses, which sometimes hold up the actual signing of contracts.Nonetheless, the Steelers have signed two of their three sixth round draft picks in Sutton Smith James Conner Jersey White , linebacker out of Northern Illinois, and Isaiah Buggs, defensive lineman out of Alabama. With the two late round picks signing on the dotted line, it leaves seven others who have yet to get their deals officially done. CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals‘ depleted defense went with an all-out blitz, hoping to push the Steelers out of field goal range. Instead, Ben Roethlisberger threw a short pass that Antonio Brown turned into a 31-yard touchdown with 10 seconds left, and the Bengals’ litany of last-second losses grew with another mindboggling finish.Brown’s catch-and-run into the end zone gave Pittsburgh a 28-21 victory Sunday that evened up the AFC North and left the Bengals (4-2) trying to figure out what happens next. That final play will stick with them for a while.Defensive coordinator Teryl Austin said Monday that he decided to blitz in hopes of pushing the Steelers (3-2-1) out of Chris Boswell’s range. The Steelers trailed 21-20 and could have won with a field goal.“We just decided to go after them Womens Jerome Bettis Jersey ,” Austin said. “I want our guys to play aggressive, we’re playing to win, and they had a good play called.”When Roethlisberger saw the Bengals had no safety guarding against a big play, he knew Brown would have a clear path to the end zone. He took the snap and quickly tossed it to Brown, who ran untouched for Pittsburgh’s seventh straight win in the series. In the aftermath, the Bengals were left trying to pick up the pieces of a defense that lost numerous players and is headed to Kansas City for a game Sunday night. The Chiefs (5-1) have one of the league’s top offenses and are coming off a 43-40 loss to New England.Linebacker Nick Vigil left in the first quarter with an injured left knee and is out indefinitely. Cornerback Darqueze Dennard hurt his right shoulder late in the first half and didn’t return. Safety Shawn Williams left with a concussion in the third quarter. Others were in and out of the lineup with injuries. The defense starred in Cincinnati’s solid start, scoring three touchdowns and finishing off three games by getting turnovers. With a chance to end the Bengals’ streak of abysmal finishes against the Steelers Jerome Bettis Jersey , the defense failed to hold on.The Steelers got the ball at their 23-yard line with 1:12 left and three timeouts. Roethlisberger completed passes of 8 and 10 yards to JuJu Smith-Schuster. A holding call on cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick provided a first down.Roethlisberger completed another pass that Smith-Schuster turned into a 23-yard gain and put them in field goal range with 15 seconds left and two timeouts. That play put the Steelers in position to pull it out.“That was one there that he found the hole in the coverage,” Austin said. “Every coverage has got a little bit of a weakness in it, and where they hit us was right behind the linebackers and just in front of the safeties.”Although Boswell has struggled this season, he has never missed a kick at Paul Brown Stadium. He had a game winner with 14 seconds left in Pittsburgh’s 18-16 playoff victory in 2015. He had another on the final play of a 23-20 victory last December.Austin decided to take a chance with a blitz, hoping to drop a runner for a loss or sack Roethlisberger, rather than leave Boswell in position to kick another game winner.“I didn’t want to leave it into the field goal kicker’s hands and allow him because it’s not every day you block a field goal,” Austin said.DEFENDING BURFICT: Coach Marvin Lewis declined again on Monday to address linebacker . Burfict hit Brown in the shoulder and helmet with his forearm as the receiver was being tackled by Shawn Williams and Jessie Bates.Brown was shaken up and left the game for a couple of plays. The officials didn’t flag the play James Conner Jersey , but the NFL could discipline Burfict after reviewing it. Burfict was suspended by the league for hitting Brown in the head during the 2015 playoff game and was suspended for the start of the next season. He also was suspended for the first three games of the 2017 season for an egregious hit during a preseason game. He sat out the first four this year for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.“Everybody makes a comment on everything that 55 does,” Lewis said, using Burfict’s number. “They don’t comment on anything anybody else does, so let’s leave it at that.”
NAPA Bo Jackson Jersey , Calif. (AP) — Jon Gruden called off practice Thursday, ending his first training camp back with the Oakland Raiders a day earlier than originally planned. No reason was given for the change, which caught a few people by surprise. A DJ who plays music during the workouts was setting up his equipment as usual and a handful of fans showed up, only to be turned back at the security gates.Instead of going through a light practice, as is customary on the final day of training camp, players rushed to pack their bags and sped out to make the 60-mile drive south to the team’s headquarters in Alameda. The switch also gives the players an extra day of rest before Saturday’s preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams. The two teams also meet in the season-opener Sept. 10.“It’s a preseason game and we have a lot of really tough evaluations to get through,” Gruden said earlier this week. “We’re going to really continue to use this as an evaluation. You’re going to see a lot of players playing a long period of time that are going to get a chance to show us they belong here. That’s how we’re looking at this game.”The Raiders made it through their three-week camp without any major injuries, although 2017 first-round draft pick Gareon Conley and newly acquired wide receiver Martavius Bryant missed long stretches of time due to a variety of injuries. The two most significant developments were Khalil Mack’s holdout and three-time Pro Bowl left tackle Donald Penn’s move to right tackle to make room for first-round pick Kolton Miller.Mack is entering the final year of his contract and did not report to camp. Mack also skipped the entire offseason workout program in hopes of pressuring the Raiders into offering a new deal.Instead, the two sides remain apart as negotiations continue in hopes of getting the 2016 Defensive Player of the Year into practice.“I don’t think it’s been a distraction,” Gruden said. “It’s obviously, for me, been disappointing. You want to have your best player here. This guy is really a great guy, too. I’m disappointed we don’t have him here. Going to try to get him here as soon as we can. In the time being https://www.raiderslockerroom.com/authentic-antonio-brown-jersey , you got to move on. You’ve got to get up and go to work.”Mack is already fifth on the Raiders’ all-time list with 40 ½ sacks.Penn missed all but the final two practices of training camp recovering from Lisfranc surgery. The 35-year-old, who received a $21 million, two-year extension after holding out for most of camp in 2017, agreed to restructure the deal and was informed during those negotiations that he would be moved to right tackle.Part of that is because of Miller, the 15th overall pick who is likely to be the starting left tackle when the regular season begins.Gruden was quick to point out that Penn’s move to right tackle isn’t necessarily permanent.“By no means are we done,” Gruden said. “We haven’t settled on any starting lineups yet. We really didn’t want to disrupt Kolton’s status right now without being sure where Donald was exactly physically. This is an opportunity to get Penn back on the field with us. Not only test the ankle, test his conditioning. Get his timing down. Get back in the channel of our offense.” ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — Kony Ealy one week after signing him to a contract.Oakland also waived linebacker James Cowser from the practice squad on Tuesday.Ealy was signed Nov. 5 by Oakland for depth on the defensive line but was inactive for his only game and then cut. Ealy had 14 sacks in three seasons with Carolina from 2014-16, including three in a Super Bowl loss to Denver following the 2015 season. He was traded to New England in 2017, got cut by the Patriots and then signed with the New York Jets, where he had one sack in 15 games.Ealy spent training camp in Dallas before getting cut by the Cowboys on Sept. 1.
ENGLEWOOD https://www.broncoslockerroom.com/authentic-drew-lock-jersey , Colo. (AP)No, Vance Joseph never felt as if he was drinking out of a firehose when the Denver Broncos stumbled through a 5-11 season in his first year as head coach last year. That’s how general manager John Elway has repeatedly described what it must have been like for a first-year head coach in the NFL.”That’s not my personality, so I didn’t feel that way,” Joseph told The Associated Press. ”My focus was purely on trying to flip it and get us back on a winning path. I think being a young head coach and being a young coach is a different deal. I’m not a young coach. I’ve been a part of teams that have gone through adversity so I kind of knew what the issues were.”Turnovers.A sieve of an offensive line.Locker room rifts.A lack of chemistry, the byproduct of another protracted quarterback competition.Still, ”I think overwhelmed, that’s not the word,” Joseph said.Denver’s dive, which included eight losses by double digits, was a shock to a city and a franchise that had a ticker-tape parade just two years earlier, and Elway acknowledged that he pondered firing Joseph at season’s end.”That’s the direction I want to go, but it’s my responsibility to think about other options to see what would be best for the football team,” Elway said in January. ”We thought about different options, but ultimately, my goal was to stick with Vance and give him that shot.”Elway, who had riled up his players by calling them soft during an eight-game skid, said he shared in the blame for Joseph’s deficient debut and needed to surround him with better personnel.Joseph replaced nearly half of his coaching staff while Elway embarked on a massive roster upgrade .He signed quarterback Case Keenum in free agency and all 10 members of his ballyhooed 2018 draft class spent four years in college and most were captains. That’s a far cry from the previous two classes that were loaded with raw athleticism, long-term projects and plenty of question marks.Joseph seems much more comfortable in his second season.”I don’t see it as a do-over. It’s hard in this league. You don’t get do-overs, unfortunately. But it’s a new year and obviously last year wasn’t good enough,” Joseph said. The hands-off philosophy Joseph brought to Denver last year has vanished.”I think it’s a fine line between micromanaging and coaching coaches. And I didn’t want to ever be micromanaged as an assistant coach because in my mind I was doing the best I could for that head coach and the best I could for that football team. And I took great pride in coaching my guys and being the best group on the field every day in the meeting rooms or on the field,” Joseph said.”So, in my mind every coach would feel that way and every coach would want to coach that way. So, I was cautious in interrupting coaches’ drills, interrupting coaches’ ways of doing things because I had an experienced staff.”That led to the notion that Joseph was still acting like an assistant coach last year while offensive coordinator Mike McCoy continued operating as though he were still a head coach before getting fired at midseason.Joseph vehemently denies that was the case.”I thought Mike did a great job every week of accepting his role and we talked every week about the game plan, so that’s not true,” Joseph said.”I worked for a lot of coaches who didn’t micromanage me, Gary Kubiak Dalton Risner Jersey , Marvin Lewis, great guys who have won a lot of games. So, that’s not true. Our staff last year we discussed every game plan that we put forward and again it was the best thing for our players at the time.”So, our thought process early on was to be an explosive offense. We were 3-1. It wasn’t perfect. But it was working. Now, turning the ball over, not protecting the quarterback, those things affected how we played on offense. But not Mike trying to be in total control, that’s not true.”Still, Joseph said he has to coach his coaches better, and by that, he means challenging them.”I don’t coach the receivers, I don’t coach the running backs or offensive line. I’m a defensive backs guy, I’m a defensive guy. So, I think asking the right questions and triggering more thought process on how we can do things better. Or simply seeing it differently than the coach and saying, `Why don’t we do it that way?”’ Joseph said.”Now, I can be wrong, but I think simply asking more questions is a simple way of helping the coaches get better and helping our football team get better and not letting anything slide.”Joseph realizes he won’t get another chance if things don’t change.”Winning football games is a must this year,” he said. ”We have to do that. That’s why they hired me.”And why Elway stuck with him.— Free agent linebacker Deiontrez Mount allegedly assaulted an Uber driver on Sunday morning in Denver.According to Stephanie Butzer of The Denver Channel, Mount was cited for simple assault and released after an incident that occurred around 6 a.m.Mount and another person had been traveling in an Uber when Mount cancelled the ride. to leave the car, which he refused to do by asking for a different drop off point instead. After moving the car to a different spot, the request to leave the vehicle was again refused as the driver got out of the car and opened up the passenger door. Mount then “initiated a physical altercation” with the driver, who fought back and blooded Mount’s nose.Mount then followed the driver and continued the physicality before the driver managed to re-enter his vehicle, drove away and called police.Mount has appeared in 12 career games for the Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans. He was a fifth-round pick of the Titans in 2015. He appeared in a career-high seven games with Denver in 2017, recording seven tackles. He tore his Achilles last May and was waived/injured by Denver in June. He reverted to the team’s injured reserve list and became a free agent earlier this month when he was non-tendered by the Broncos.
The Cowboys had their most impressive outing of the season against the Jaguars last Sunday as their offense put up 40 points and their defense shut down Jacksonville. It was the third time that the Cowboys won a game at home and the offensive production marked a big step ahead of anything else they’ve put together this year. Now https://www.theredskinslockerroom.com/authentic-terry-mclaurin-jersey , as running back Ezekiel Elliott noted Wednesday, the Cowboys need to show they can both win on the road and stack together wins after alternating results through the first six weeks before they can feel too excited about their situation.“It was a game we needed,” Elliott said, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I’ve said it before — if we don’t build on it Montez Sweat Jersey , everything we did last week really means nothing.”Washington is also trying to show that they can play win two straight games and the team that does will give itself a leg up in the NFC East. Left tackle Trent Williams did the expected on Wednesday when he failed to report to Washington’s training camp.Williams, who also skipped June’s mandatory minicamp, had a growth on his head removed this offseason and is reportedly upset at the way the team handled the situation. Some reports have indicatedt all, but head coach Jay Gruden said on Wednesday that his expectation is that Williams will be back.“We know how we feel about Trent; how important he is to this team. We expect him here shortly Dwayne Haskins Jersey ,” Gruden said, via ESPN.com. “Right now, there are some things he has to work out individually, personally Dwayne Haskins Redskins Jersey , with his agent . . . whatever that may be. Love Trent, love what he’s done for this franchise and this team.”Williams is signed through the 2020 season and there have also been rumblings that he’d like to address his deal in addition to the other concerns with the team. Geron Christian and Ereck Flowers are the top options at left tackle as long as Williams remains away from the team.

NAPA, Calif. (AP) — Gareon Conley hasn’t been shy about asking for help as he attempts to cement his spot as the Oakland Raiders‘ top cornerback. In the early days of training camp. Conley was one of a handful of players who gathered to watch film after practice with linebacker Vontaze Burfict, a veteran of defensive coordinator Paul Guenther’s system. On Tuesday, Conley spent part of the morning going one on one with Antonio Brown as the seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver continues to slowly work his way back from a foot injury.“Of course, it’s going to make me better Antonio Brown Jersey White ,” Conley said. “Every time I get a chance to go against him I try to go against him and always ask him questions about when he breaks and what he’s doing at the line, down the field, how he plays against (defensive backs). It’s going to make me better in the long run.”In many ways Conley is trying to make up for lost time. The 24th overall pick in 2017 missed all of training camp and the season opener that year with what former Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie described as shin splints. Conley, who on Tuesday clarified the injury was a broken tibia, was limited to two games as a rookie. In 2018, Conley missed more than two weeks of camp with a hip strain he suffered on the first day of practice. He played well when healthy, starting 14 games with three interceptions and one touchdown.“We’re just trying to get him to be all he can be for 16 weeks,” Raiders coach Jon Gruden said. “We want him to be healthy. If he’s out there every day he’s got a chance to be an excellent football player. That’s the big thing right now.”Conley had his hands full with Brown. When the two locked up in positional drills, Brown beat Conley with a quick inside move. Later during a passing drill, Brown used a double move to pull away from Conley late in the route then turned his back to the end zone and hauled in a long touchdown pass from Derek Carr.“We’re going to try to isolate matchups every day,” Gruden said. “Sometimes you’ll come out here and see Conley with Antonio, Conley with Tyrell (Williams), Conley with (Hunter) Refrow. We’re trying to see certain matchups and the competition has really helped everybody get better.”Staying out of the trainers’ room is key to Conley’s progress.“This is probably the first time I made it through a whole week of training camp since I’ve been in the league,” he said. “I’m always growing as a player and I feel comfortable with the system. I feel like I made strides but I feel like I can always make better strides. There’s always money left out there on the field. I just have to get better every time I can.”Brown wasn’t on the field much longer after beating Conley for the long touchdown. portion of practice and continue to ease him back after Brown opened camp on the non-football injury list.He was shadowed by a personal trainer all morning. At one point, the two appeared headed for the locker room to call it a day before veering over to talk to Raiders owner Mark Davis. Shortly after that Brown briefly returned and caught a handful of passes, including the touchdown over Conley, then spent the rest of the afternoon in tennis shoes and a black Raiders hoodie.“He’s getting close and hopefully after the day off tomorrow he’ll get closer,” said Gruden, who declined to specify the exact nature of Brown’s injury. “But we need him on the grass. We need him to get going. He’s chomping at the bit. He’s not a real patient guy. He’s day to day. It’s nothing serious but it’s something that’s going to take a couple days.”Notes: Defensive tackle Gabe Wright had to be helped off the field and was taken to the locker room with an apparent right leg injury. . The Raiders signed defensive tackle Ethan Westbrooks, who has nine career sacks in 67 games. Tight end Erik Swoope and defensive tackle Ronald Ollie were waived.__
PHOENIX (AP) — Former Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph has been hired as the defensive coordinator on new Arizona Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury’s staff.General manager Steve Keim had said he wanted a veteran defensive coordinator to pair with Kingsbury Joe Flacco Jersey White , who has no NFL coaching experience and will focus on offense.Joseph was fired on Dec. 31 after two seasons as coach of the Broncos. He has 14 years of coaching experience in the NFL, 12 on the defensive side of the ball.In addition, the Cardinals announced the hiring of Bill Davis, who has considerable experience as a defensive coordinator, as linebackers coach and said Jeff Rodgers will return as special teams coordinator.Joseph has just one season’s experience as a defensive coordinator, in 2016 with Miami. His Dolphins ranked 29th in total defense (out of 32 teams) and 18th in points allowed.Still, he was pursued by more than one NFL team looking for a defensive coordinator following his dismissal by Denver.Joseph, 49 Womens Courtland Sutton Jersey , ran a 3-4 defense, the scheme that Keim said he wanted to return to because it best fit the Cardinals’ personnel. Arizona ran a 3-4 defense for Bruce Arians’ five seasons as head coach but switched to a 4-3 last year for Steve Wilks’ one season with the Cardinals.Joseph was fired after going 11-21 in two seasons as head coach in Denver. The Broncos had the No. 3 defense in the NFL in 2017 but slipped to 22nd last year.Joseph coached defensive backs for San Francisco (2006-10), Houston (2011-13) and Cincinnati (2014-15) before his one season in Miami, where he helped the Dolphins make the postseason and positioned himself for the Broncos head coaching job.Davis returns to Arizona, where he was defensive coordinator under Ken Whisenhunt in 2009-10 and linebackers coach in 2007-08. He was part of the Arizona staff during the Cardinals’ surprise run to the Super Bowl following the 2008 season. He spent the last two seasons as linebackers coach for Ohio State after serving as defensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles for three seasons (2013-15). Davis also has NFL assistant coaching experience with Carolina, Cleveland, Green Bay, Atlanta Womens Von Miller Jersey , the New York Giants and San Francisco, where he was the 49ers‘ defensive coordinator in 2005-06 before coming to Arizona.Rodgers, an 18-year coaching veteran, came to Arizona with Wilks. Under his tutelage, punter Andy Lee was among the league’s best and undrafted rookie Zeke Turner led the NFL with 13 ½ solo special teams tackles. The Cardinals also recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown in their season finale against Seattle.Joseph was out of town but could meet with the media when he returns next week. General Manager John Elway announced Wednesday the Broncos will exercise the 2019 contract options for receiver Emmanuel Sanders and defensive end Derek Wolfe. Quarterback Case Keenum‘s future with the team is less certain.Keenum, 31, likely is moving on again after one year in Denver.“We don’t know yet,” Elway said. “As I told Case when I talked to him https://www.broncoslockerroom.com/authentic-von-miller-jersey , the different options that we are going to work with him and give him time to think about it. he is and go from there.”The Broncos’ trade for Joe Flacco, which won’t become official until March 13, creates uncertainty for Keenum. The team is expected to shop Keenum, who signed a two-year deal in the offseason and has a $21 million salary cap number for 2019.Keenum said he was “shocked” at the Broncos’ trade for Flacco. It will come as big of a shock for Keenum to remain in Denver as a backup in 2019.He became a full-time starter for the first time in 2017, leading the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game, and he started all 16 games in 2018 for the Broncos. But will the Broncos find someone willing to trade for him?
RICHMOND Dwayne Haskins Jersey White , Va. (AP) — The Washington Redskins have released veteran on cornerback Orlando Scandrick.Coach Jay Gruden confirmed the move Tuesday before the final practice of training camp. Washington signed Scandrick to a two-year deal in March after the Dallas Cowboys cut him.Gruden cited the play of young cornerbacks Quinton Dunbar, Fabian Moreau, sixth-round pick Greg Stroman, undrafted free agents Danny Johnson and Ranthony Texada and supplemental draft pick Adonis Alexander as the reason for releasing the 31-year-old Scandrick.Injuries limited Scandrick to 11 games last season and 12 in 2016. The Redskins signed him after sending Kendall Fuller to Kansas City as part of the trade for Alex Smith.Gruden says he wants to give Dunbar, Moreau and others playing time. He hopes Scandrick catches on with another team.52View Gallery Gallery:PHOTOS: Cowboys fall 24-21 after late comeback by 49ers in preseason openerCary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports | Cary Edmondson The Cowboys are no longer saying that Ezekiel Elliott is the straw that stirs their drink. They’re saying instead that their drink doesn’t need a straw. It’s posturing, plain and simple. The Cowboys can’t afford to quickly cave on Zeke, or other agents of other players will regard the Cowboys are weaker than the Ukraine. And so as Zeke heaves a medicine ball at the YMCA in Cabo Dwayne Haskins Jersey , the team has no choice but to adopt a posture of indifference, not desperation. The real question is whether, if the holdout lingers, the Cowboys will make arrangements to proceed into the regular season without Elliott. For now, they’ve signed running back Alfred Morris. Here’s what former Cowboys scout Bryan Broaddus, who currently writes for the team’s official website, had to say about the decision to bring back Morris after a one-year detour to San Francisco: “I believe that you have to think that this might last a while. This team does a great job of protecting themselves for these types of situations.player if this does go longer.”It’s an intriguing thought. And the most intriguing trade option for the Cowboys involves a Texas native who has previously made it clear that he’d like to play in Dallas: Adrian Peterson. The problem Wes Martin Jersey , of course, is that Peterson currently plays for Washington, one of the Cowboys’ arch-rivals. Also, Washington gave Peterson a $1.5 million signing bonus earlier this year, and they’d likely want added compensation for taking a hit of $750,000 this year and next year. But with coach Jay Gruden recently raving about Samaje Perine and with 2018 second-rounder Derrius Guice healthier than expected, maybe Peterson is expendable — albeit potentially expensive. It’s a spitball at this point Womens Bryce Love Jersey , nothing more. The broader point is that, if the Cowboys are serious about taking a hard line with Elliott, signing a player like Alfred Morris won’t convince anyone of that. Trading for a player like Peterson definitely will.
ALAMEDA Womens Antonio Brown Jersey , Calif. (AP) — At the national championship game nearly four months ago, Oakland Raiders general manager Mike Mayock said he was told by an NFL scout that if he did nothing but draft players from Alabama and Clemson he’d get a passing grade in his first year on the job.Mayock apparently took the message to heart. The Raiders drafted Clemson cornerback Trayvon Mullen with the 40th overall pick Friday after twice trading back in the second round in deals with Jacksonville and Buffalo.Mullen was the third player from the national championship game taken by Mayock in the first two days of the draft. Oakland used two of its three first-round picks on Mullen’s Clemson teammate, defensive end Clelin Ferrell, and Alabama running back Josh Jacobs.“Being on the field before the game was just like, ‘Wow,'” Mayock said. “I said to somebody, ‘Man I’d take five of these guys and go home right now.’ And here we are. We got three of them, so it’s exciting. It really is.”Mullen visited the Raiders prior to the draft and likes the idea of being reunited with Ferrell and playing with Jacobs and safety Johnathan Abram, Oakland’s third pick in Thursday’s first round.“This is awesome, man, being able to get back with my boy,” Mullen. “We have to get to work. They’re going to get a great player, especially with me and Clelin and even John Abram, because that’s like my best friend. Us guys getting together, it’s going to be awesome.”Mullen was a second-team All-ACC pick during his junior year with the Tigers. The 6-foot-1 Antonio Brown Jersey White , 200-pound Mullen has not allowed a touchdown in coverage since 2017, according to Pro Football Focus, and he surrendered fewer than 300 yards passing in his college career. As luck had it, Mullen had one of his best games with Mayock watching. Mullen was the defensive MVP in the national championship game after tallying six tackles with a sack, interception and forced fumble.“I think it did a lot,” Mullen said. “Just the way out I went out there and showed the world the elite player that I am, how confident I am, how strong and physical I am. I believe that game played a big role. It motivated me a lot to even making my decision to come out early.”Mayock wasn’t there to only scout Mullen but came away impressed.“He had a great national championship game,” Mayock said. “He’s a long corner. We love his length. He fits (defensive coordinator) Paul Guenther’s defense to a T, a long press corner that runs. We’re really excited about this kid’s upside and we’re happy to pick up the extra picks.”Mullen joins an increasingly crowded secondary with the Raiders. Former first-round pick Gareon Conley is expected to start at one of the cornerback spots. Oakland also tendered Daryl Worley, who started nine games in 2018.The Raiders didn’t have a third-round pick but stockpiled additional selections in the latter rounds, something Mayock had hinted he wanted to do.Oakland began the day moving back three spots from 35th to 38th in a trade with the Jaguars. The Raiders also acquired Jacksonville’s fourth-round pick (109th overall) in exchange for a fifth (140) and seventh (235).Mayock continued to work the phones and made another deal moments later with the Bills. Oakland dropped back two more spots to 40th overall and picked up a fifth-rounder from Buffalo. The phone didn’t stop ringing, even as Mayock worked his way downstairs to talk to the media following the end of the third round.“The goal coming into today was not to lose Trayvon and try to pick up some picks,” Mayock said. “And that’s what happened.” The Raiders will finish out their time in Oakland playing at the Coliseum which this season will be known as Ring Central Coliseum, and they certainly hope to win a ring in their final season by..." />Skip to main contentclockmenumore-arrownoyesSilver And Black Pride homepageHorizontal - WhiteSilver And Black Pridean Oakland Raiders communityFollow Silver And Black Pride online:Follow Silver And Black Pride on TwitterFollow Silver And Black Pride on FacebookLog in or sign upLog InSign UpSite searchSearchSearchSilver And Black Pride main menuFanpostsFanshotsRaidersOddsAboutMastheadCommunity GuidelinesStubHubMoreAll 321 blogs on Horizontal - WhiteFanposts Fanshots Raiders StoriesScheduleRosterStatsYahoo Raiders NewsYahoo Raiders Team PageYahoo Raiders ReportYahoo Raiders Depth ChartYahoo Raiders TransactionsYahoo Raiders PhotosOdds About Masthead Community Guidelines StubHub ✕Allegiant Airlines nearing naming rights deal for Las Vegas Raiders stadiumNew Bo Jackson Jersey White ,82commentsPDTShare this storyShare this on FacebookShare this on TwitterShareAll sharing optionsShareAll sharing options for:Allegiant Airlines nearing naming rights deal for Las Vegas Raiders stadiumTwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailThe Raiders will finish out their time in Oakland playing at the Central Coliseum, and they certainly hope to win a ring in their final season by the Bay. But in 2020 they’re scheduled to move to their new digs in Las Vegas, and it appears as though the naming rights to that stadium are about to be doled out.‘Allegiant’ is a funny name for a stadium which features the Raiders, who are allegiant to nowhere in particular, and will have resided in three different cities by the time they move into this stadium. However, I can see why they’d be interested in plastering their name on the stadium, as they provide the sort of cheap flights that California fans might want to take to get to football games in Sin City.Unfortunately for Allegiant, Raider fans have already given nicknames to the stadium, calling it “The Thunderdome” or the “Death Star”. No amount of corporate branding will change how dark, looming and Raider-ish the new stadium looks and will continue to look when it’s completed, but the Raiders will take Allegiant’s money anyway. If they’re lucky, Raider fans will give the stadium a new nickname: The Al.
If there were any team in the league right now that could be considered worse than the Raiders https://www.raiderslockerroom.com/authentic-antonio-brown-jersey , it would be the 49ers. They have just one win this season, none since starting quarterback Jimmy Garappolo went down with an injury and they are coming off losing to a dreadful Cardinals team last week for the SECOND TIME this season. But no. Even Vegas oddsmakers think the 49ers will beat the Raiders. The line favors the 49ers by three points at Levi’s Stadium Thursday night.Matchup : Trends : Free PicksThis isn’t to say the Raiders have somehow earned the right to be favored or even seen on equal footing as their cross-bay rivals. They certainly haven’t done that. They’ve lost three straight, mostly ugly losses too and their only win of the season was in overtime to the Browns who are so bad, they just fired head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley. It just kinda seems like if the Raiders have a shot to win another game this season, it would be this one. The 49ers may not even be starting CJ Beathard this week as he is a game time decision with a wrist injury. Should he not be able to go, it would be 2017 undrafted free agent Nick Mullens getting the start. A guy who has been cut twice since last year and spent most of his time in San Francisco on the practice squad, never appearing in an NFL game.Somehow, that doesn’t offer a lot of comfort though. Mainly because that means the Raiders have no tape on him outside of college and the preseason. And it just gives the Raiders two quarterbacks to prepare for instead of one.All that said, the Raiders do have a very good chance to beat the odds this week. Especially if Derek Carr and the offense can put up a fight as they did last week against the Colts. That too is far from a guarantee.Update: Two hours after Nick Mullens was announced as the 49ers starting QB, the betting line moved from 49ers being favored by threee to Raiders favored by one.Follow @LeviDamien SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Nick Mullens got several hundred congratulatory text messages, a phone call from Brett Favre and his Twitter account verified.Delivering the most productive game by a quarterback in his NFL debut since the merger leads to many accolades.Mullens threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns and the San Francisco 49ers thoroughly dominated the Battle of the Bay, beating the Oakland Raiders 34-3 on Thursday night. The former undrafted free agent out of Favre’s alma mater Southern Mississippi finished 16 for 22 in place of the injured C.J. Beathard and had a 151.9 passer rating, the highest for a quarterback with at least 15 attempts in an NFL debut since the 1970 merger.“I think I’m here for a reason. This is my opportunity to prove that I can play,” Mullens said. “Today’s thing was just attack your job and worry about what matters. What mattered most tonight was the team and how we played.”The Niners (2-7) couldn’t have played much better in snapping a six-game losing streak and winning for just the second time in two years without Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback.Mullens threw TD passes to Pierre Garcon and Kendrick Bourne on the opening two drives and connected on a 71-yard one-handed catch-and-run play to George Kittle to set up a third TD pass to Kittle. Raheem Mostert added a 52-yard TD run and the defense generated eight sacks for the first time since 2009.But the story of the game was Mullens, got rid of the ball quickly and took advantages of several breakdowns in coverage for big plays, including the 24-yard TD pass to a wide-open Garcon on the opening drive.“It was cool that he didn’t change under the big lights and these circumstances,” cornerback Richard Sherman said. “We’re not really surprised. We’ve seen him do it in practice. He plays with a lot of confidence.”With Garoppolo out for the season and Beathard having lost nine of 10 career starts Womens Derek Carr Jersey , the inevitable question will be whether Mullens will take over as starter for the next game Nov. 12 against the New York Giants.“We’ll definitely consider it,” coach Kyle Shanahan said. “I’m definitely not thinking about it right now. Our whole team played very well. They definitely did.”The Raiders (1-7) clearly didn’t, losing for the fourth straight time, getting outscored by 85 points during the skid.“I know it’s not looking pretty right now,” coach Jon Gruden said. “I’ve heard a lot of negativity over the last six, seven months and rightfully so. But we’re going to build a championship football team here.”In what was perhaps the worst prime-time matchup in NFL history, only the Raiders played down to expectations. They provided little resistance on defense against an undrafted quarterback making his NFL debut, did nothing offensively after driving for as field goal on the opening drive and put together the most listless performance yet in Gruden’s second stint as coach.Carr finished 16 for 22 for 171 yards and was sacked seven times before being replaced by AJ McCarron in the fourth quarter. McCarron was sacked once behind a banged-up offensive line.“It’s a frustrating thing to be sitting on the record you have, be going through some of the things we’re going through as an offense and still not being able to put points on the board,” tight end Jared Cook said. “It’s definitely frustrating because we know the talent we have in this room is way better than that and way better than what we portray on the field.”UNDER PRESSURECarr was sacked four times in the first half for the first time in his career as the Raiders struggled to provide much protection against a 49ers defense that has not generated much pressure all year. ENGLEWOOD Joe Flacco Jersey , Colo. (AP)The Denver Broncos don’t put their full pads on until Tuesday but they’re already a banged-up bunch.Newly signed receiver Corey ”Philly” Brown is in concussion protocol after hitting his head in the weight room and when the Broncos put on shoulder pads for the first time Monday several players hobbled off.”Football is played in pads, so to put the pads on and watch the guys bang a little bit is always fun,” coach Vance Joseph said. ”For the running game, and obviously stopping the run, the pads are critical.”Left tackle Garett Bolles and inside linebacker Brandon Marshall were among the casualties Monday.”Garett Bolles took a shot to the chin. He’s being evaluated for a head injury,” Joseph said, adding that Marshall ”had a minor wrist injury. He’s OK.”Cornerback Marcos Rios sat out with a sore hip and tight end Jeff Heuerman sat out with a sore knee, which Joseph said was strictly precautionary. The Broncos are also dealing with second-year wide receiver Carlos Henderson, who failed to report to training camp while dealing with what the team calls a family situation.Although Joseph has said it’s up to Henderson whether his career will continue, several members of the organization are keeping in touch with their absent teammate.”Lots of guys have called Carlos. (Wide Receivers) Coach Zach (Azzanni) has been calling him, I’ve been calling Carlos, his teammates have been,” Joseph said. ”Obviously, he’s having some family issues he’s working through and it’s really his timeline.”He can return any time he gets ready to return. It’s on him Bradley Chubb Jersey White , but his guys are supporting him, the coaches are supporting him. So we’re looking forward to having him back.”Henderson was a third-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech last year but he missed his rookie season with a hand injury. He missed much of the offseason program this year with a pulled hamstring and is a long-shot to even make the 53-man roster if he does return.Joseph said he has no timeline for Henderson to get back.”We’ve had some conversations about other things than football. He’s not ready for football right now, so we’re not talking about football a lot,” Joseph said. ”We’re doing a good job as a team of checking on him on a daily basis.”Things should ratchet up overall Tuesday when the Broncos also wear their thigh pads.”Any time we’re full pads, it’s like game day,” Joseph said. ”Every pad’s on, mouth guard, chin straps buckled, so it’ll look different as far as what they’re wearing, but the practice shouldn’t look that much different as far as the physical part of it.”Nose tackle Domata Peko, for one, appreciated finally getting to do some hitting in the trenches Monday.”That what it’s about, you know? We don’t play without shoulder pads, so when you get them on that’s when you really get to get real physical and do your job Womens Bradley Chubb Jersey ,” Peko said. ”Especially up front. In the trenches, you’ve got to have the pads on and feel that contact to see where you’re at and sharpen each other up.”It was a good first day of shells today. They call it shells, and then full pads tomorrow, but in the trenches, every time we put the pads on it’s pretty much full pads. It felt good today.”The Broncos will also be in full pads Wednesday.— If the Denver Broncos want an all world athlete, wide receiver Parris Campbell has speed to burn."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Broncos NewsBroncos 2019 Draft ClassBroncos PodcastsBroncos 2019 ScheduleKey Offseason DatesCommunity RulesFull ArchiveBroncos StoriesScheduleRosterStatsOdds Shop About Masthead Community Guidelines StubHub ✕NFL DraftNFL Draft ProfilesDenver Broncos 2019 DraftNFL Draft Scouting Report: Wide Receiver Parris CampbellNew,16commentsIf the Denver Broncos want an all world athlete, wide receiver Parris Campbell has speed to burn. NFL Draft Scouting Report: Wide Receiver Parris CampbellIf the Broncos want to add speed to the offense, there’s few better than Campbell in this class. Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY SportsI spent last weekend watching every game I could find of Dwayne Haskins and it’s impossible to ignore the weapons he had to throw to. As I’ll get to in GIF Horse, one of the biggest aspects of Haskins game that jumps out at you is his ability as a distributor. That wouldn’t look nearly as good if he wasn’t putting the ball into the hands of players like Parris Campbell.Campbell is one of the most explosive play-makers in the 2019 Draft. Scouting Report-Potential with a capital P.-Scoring threat every time he has the ball.-Elusive with the ball in his hands. Know’s how to generate yards. -Can contribute to special teams in a variety of ways.-Speed to burn, ridiculous athletic numbers.-Very fluid.-Raw route runner, but feels space. Will find holes in zones.-Needs to continue working on his hands, but they’re active. Has come a long way.-Did not face much press.-A vertical threat, but limited tape of him being used to take top off the D.There are promising moments on tape Womens Dre'Mont Jones Jersey , but a lot of Campbell’s upside is simply projection right now. What I’ve heard/readNFL Draft & Combine Profile - Parris Campbell | NFL.comParris Campbell WR Ohio State - Draft Player Profile | The Draft Network“A projection player worth the investment” Matt WaldmanWhy he fitsRemember when the rumors circulated that the Broncos were considering John Brown or a veteran burner? There are very few players in this class that can come close to matching Campbell’s insane speed and agility. He’ll be a threat to house it on every play if the defense falls asleep and can contribute as a returner from day 1. He’ll also be a weapon on jet action and bubble screens right away. Why he doesn’tIt’s all projection at this point. The Urban Meyer offense is a weird beast that kind of hides receivers in a lot of ways, and Campbell didn’t run a full route tree or get many true vertical looks despite his speed. Drafting him carries some risk because he’ll probably need work on route running at the next level and he did not face much press man coverage in school. When he did, it looked like he’d be able to handle it, but he’ll need more exposure to it to master the tricks of the trade. n contested situations and there’s been questions about his hands. Final thoughtsThe OSU product reminds you of Percy Harvin when he came out of Florida: he’s a back/receiver hybrid who’s best described as a playmaker. You see the numbers and what he does in space and dream about what he could do as a vertical player, but OSU used him as a focal point in Mesh designs, crossers, and other YAC routes. He’s sort of an age-old trap: Parris Campbell’s one of those players that gets your imagination running away from you. He shows the traits elite receivers possess but is more tools than tape at this moment. That isn’t necessarily his fault, but the college offense he played in, so the question is whether he can successfully adapt to the NFL with coaching.I believe he can, but he needs the right guidance and system. If someone like Rich Scangarello can scheme him touches early on he’d be an instant contributor as he learns the finer points of the position. He already looks like he’ll be dangerous with the ball in his hands. Down the road he has the tools to grow into a slot weapon or the heir to Emmanuel Sanders. Campbell needs the right coaching staff to unlock his potential. Should it be the Broncos?
Will the Rosen deal get done tonight?"The New York Giants made it official and selected Duke QB Daniel Jones with the #6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Jones is the second QB off the board tonight Montez Sweat Jersey , with Kyler Murray going #1 overall to the Arizona Cardinals. Both of these moves potentially will have a big impact on the Redsking going forward. The Giants have drafted their replacement for Eli Manning after passing on much better players last year when they had the #2 overall pick. GM David Gettleman had better hope he made the right call with Saquon Barkley last season, or it could go down as one of the biggest missed opportunities in a while. The Giants have been linked to Daniel Jones for a while, and it’s not a surprise they took him in the 1st round. There was speculation that Giants could wait until their 2nd first round pick, but there were plenty of rumors about the Redskins trading up for a QB to motivate them to get their guy early. The Josh Rosen situation could have a huge impact right away. The Cardinals want a 1st round pick this year, but unless a team like the Patriots gives it up, they will be out of luck. nd it is reported they will be trying to get last year’s #10 pick for a discount. Washington will have a new a couple of new quarterbacks under center when the team reports to training camp.Neither of them will have his best chance at blind-side protection.According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network Dwayne Haskins Redskins Jersey , Washington left tackle Trent Williams isn’t expected to report to camp on time, and there’s no indication of when he plans to return.Williams seemed to have an issue with the team regarding the treatment of an offseason medical concern, though team president Bruce Allen denied it was a problem when Williams didn’t show up for minicamp in June.Williams had a benign tumor or growth removed from his scalp this offseason. He also has two years left on his current contract, though none of the $27 million remaining (well below what a player of his caliber at his position is making now) is guaranteed. This situation is obviously a major concern for the team, which traded for Case Keenum and drafted Dwayne Haskins in the first round, after losing Alex Smith to a broken leg last year.
The hype trains touting NFL offseason activity typically start leaving their stations each January Womens James Conner Jersey , when new head coaches are hired and fan bases are fired up about the fresh start that sends hope soaring high like the football in the air on the opening kickoff of a game. There’s another round of departures in March, when the biggest-buck free agent contracts are signed to put some of the highest-profile players in the league on new teams snatching up missing pieces to their Super Bowl puzzles. Then, the first-round draft picks clamber aboard at the end of April.By December, well, the derailments are inevitable. From Le’Veon Bell to Jon Gruden to Leonard Fournette, here’s a pick-six of the biggest disappointments in the NFL this year:NO-SHOWThe millions of fantasy football players who snagged Bell for a seeming bargain in their auctions and drafts would wholeheartedly agree, though the Pittsburgh Steelers survived the absence of the two-time All-Pro running back due to the emergence of James Conner and, most recently T. J. Watt Jersey White , Jaylen Samuels.Bell bet on himself, steadfastly refusing to sign his franchise tender without the promise of a contract extension one of the sport’s most dangerous positions and ultimately accepting his ineligibility for the season . The Steelers didn’t blink, either, and Bell will assumedly restart his career with another team in 2019.CHALLENGE FOR CHUCKYThe Oakland Raiders, eyeing an eventual move to Las Vegas, gave Jon Gruden a 10-year contract worth about $100 million to return to the franchise he got his start with as a head coach. The Raiders are in this for the long haul, after burning through nine head coaches in the 16 seasons that passed after Gruden shed his silver and black. Their 3-11 record two years after a 12-4 finish, however Terrell Edmunds Jersey White , is a shaker of salt in the wound for the Bay Area loyalists on the verge of losing their team. Watching traded stars Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper thrive elsewhere has only made this season hurt worse. No team has been easier to score on this year than the Raiders, with an average of nearly 30 points allowed per game.SOPHOMORE SLUMPPart a strong crop of rookie running backs last season, Leonard Fournette finished fifth in the league in yards rushing per game as the Jacksonville Jaguars came so close to beating the New England Patriots in the AFC championship game. The Jaguars as a team would qualify as the league’s biggest letdown, so Fournette is hardly alone. But even with a mulligan for missing six games because of a hamstring injury, Fournette has taken a clear step back. The fourth overall pick in the 2017 draft has averaged only 3.4 yards per attempt (46th in the NFL) and 56.6 rushing yards per game (24th in the NFL). Last week in a three-point loss to Washington, Fournette spent most of the second half on the sideline while undrafted rookie Dave Williams ate into his playing time.TOUGH TIMES FOR TOP-10 QUARTERBACKSDrafting a quarterback in the first round is a decision made with as much long-term view as any in the league, and success for rookies at this high-pressure position can be awfully difficult without strong supporting casts.Still, more and more quarterbacks in their early 20s are coming to the NFL with the skills to be an instant success Womens JuJu Smith-Schuster Jersey , and given the impatient nature of a results-driven culture there’s been no shortage of complaints about Sam Darnold (third overall pick), Josh Allen (seventh overall pick) and Josh Rosen (10th overall pick), particularly when judging them against first overall pick Baker Mayfield’s late-season surge with the Cleveland Browns. With a combined 30 touchdown passes against 38 interceptions, Darnold, Allen and Rosen have displayed a need for more experience and more help. The New York Jets, Buffalo Bills and Arizona Cardinals have a collective record of 12-20.KICKING IT AWAYSure, Chicago and Green Bay play on grass in cold climates, but Minnesota and Detroit have indoor stadiums. NFC North teams have enjoyed a long line of successful kickers. This year Womens T. J. Watt Jersey , though, has been a struggle, with 12-year veteran Matt Prater of the Lions the only specialist whose season has become a story. The Vikings cut rookie Daniel Carlson after two games and three missed field goals that cost them a victory against the rival Packers, who had their own issues with Mason Crosby. Cody Parkey ranks 28th in field goal percentage for the Bears, one spot behind Crosby.SO MUCH FOR DRAMAThat last-second 2-point conversion the Los Angeles Chargers used to win at Kansas City and tie the Chiefs for the AFC West lead turned that division race into a December thriller. That’s the exception , though, with the Bears, New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Rams already in possession of top-four seeds in the NFC and the New England Patriots and Houston Texans holding two-game leads in their divisions with two games to play. That three-team race in the NFC East has been muted by all that mediocrity. The Baltimore Ravens JuJu Smith-Schuster Jersey White , at least, have made the AFC North a legitimate competition with the Steelers. One of the biggest questions regarding the 2019 Steelers offense relates to whether new No. 1 receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster will be able to handle the extra attention that comes from being the top option in the passing game. Coach Mike Tomlin explained on Wednesday that this is nothing new for the team’s 2018 MVP.“He’s used to that,” He faced double teams a year ago. A lot of people [are] capable of doubling two people on possession-like situations. That was often a tactic that was employed against us a year ago where they doubled him and Antonio [Brown]. Him facing double teams particularly in situational football is not anything new. That’s why it’s important to strengthen ourselves as a collective unit then we are simply going to distribute the ball where the coverage tells us to and know that JuJu is going to get his opportunity to be impactful in the long run.”It’s one thing to be doubled in certain situations and to be doubled consistently and another to consistently beat double coverage. That’s what Smith-Schuster will have to do, especially without getting him much help from the rest of the team’s other receivers.Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger spread the ball to nine different receivers, with Smith-Schuster getting eight targets and six catches. Donte Moncrief, the top candidate to become the new No. 2, had 10 targets but managed only three receptions.
With the fourth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft the Oakland Raiders selected Clelin Ferrell out of Clemson Womens Antonio Brown Jersey , an EDGE rusher who should immediately help the team address the league low thirteen..."With the fourth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft the Oakland Raiders selected Clelin Ferrell out of Clemson, an EDGE rusher who should immediately help the team address the league low thirteen sacks posted by the defense in 2018. Ferrell was expected by many observers to be taken far later in the round, but some had him highly rated, including Danny Kelly of The Ringer. In addition, Samuel R. Gold, who does film reviews on Sam’s Film Room and also covers the Seattle Seahawks for The Athletic Seattle recently did a review of Ferrell strengths and weaknesses in the build up to the draft. Raiders fans looking to learn a bit more about what Ferrell should bring to the team in coming years can enjoy the breakdown from earlier this month. In the video Gold reviews Ferrell both rushing the passer and defending the run, and compares Ferrell to recently traded former-Seahawk, but now Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark. Many will obviously posit that Ferrell was a reach at number four overall, but Gold likes his upside and potential. Further Antonio Brown Jersey White , there is no doubt that between the trading of Khalil Mack and release of Bruce Irvin last season, EDGE was a massive position of need for the Raiders, and they have addressed that here. ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — Oakland Raiders cornerback Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie abruptly retired Tuesday, two days after not playing a single snap on defense for the second time this season. The two-time Pro Bowl defensive back made the announcement on social media , not long after notifying team officials of his decision to call it quits after seven games with the Raiders."Just a shocker to see him gone because he was a great teammate and a great player for us," cornerback Rashaan Melvin said. "He showed us how to cherish the game and approach it the right way. He's always dancing, always rapping, always singing. Just showing his personality no matter what Bo Jackson Jersey White , through the ups and downs." Rodgers-Cromartie's retirement came hours before the NFL trade deadline, during which the Raiders were surprisingly quiet.Oakland had been one of the busiest teams over the past two months, acquiring three first-round picks in deals that sent pass-rush specialist Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears days before the season opener and wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys last week. There had been speculation the Raiders might be willing to make additional deals but the deadline passed without one. Outside of Rodgers-Cromartie retiring and the team activating James Cowser from the practice squad, Oakland made no other roster moves."We know who we have going forward and it's on us to go out there and execute and play well and try and stick around," quarterback Derek Carr said. "You want to make sure that you're around, what's the plan, all those things. I think that was on a lot of guys' minds. Just knowing that that's almost over with and we're just playing ball, it's nice for our guys."The 16th-overall pick in 2008, Rodgers-Cromartie played for five teams during his 11-year career. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2009 with the Arizona Cardinals and again in 2015 with the New York Giants. The 32-year-old was signed by the Raiders just before the regular season to add experience to a secondary that was in the midst of an overhaul. plays in Week 1 but had been playing mostly on special teams since then. He did not play on defense during Sunday's 42-28 loss to the Indianapolis Colts but took 22 snaps on special teams.Rodgers-Cromartie is the second NFL cornerback to retire since the start of the season. Vontae Davis of the Buffalo Bills stunned his teammates when he announced his decision at halftime of their Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers."When something like that happens https://www.raiderslockerroom.com/authentic-derek-carr-jersey , I'd rather it happen that way than halftime of a game," Carr said. "I understand what he's doing, I understand why. Coach addressed it with us and he said, ‘Text him, everyone show him love, congratulate him on a great career.' There's no hard feelings at all."
Peyton Manning has offered some high praise for his former Broncos teammate Von Miller.Manning was asked by the Broncos’ website to talk about some of his favorite players https://www.broncoslockerroom.com/authentic-von-miller-jersey , and although he said his little brother is the player he watches the most, it’s Miller who really impresses him.“I still get to see Eli play — much more now,” Peyton said. “I’ve seen him play, I think, three games a year in person since I’ve been retired. Prior to that, I got to see him play in both Super Bowls, which was very special. But I’ve gotten to see him play more. We come to all the Broncos games, so I enjoy some of the guys that I’ve played with, like Von Miller. I still enjoy watching him compete. . . . Maybe this tells you how special he is that I’m maybe not looking at quarterbacks now; I’m watching outside linebackers and pass rushers. People ask me a lot of times, ‘Who’s the best athlete you’ve ever played with?’ And I say, ‘Von Miller.’ Just some of the things he can do physically is special. So when you come to a Broncos game and they’re on defense, you find yourself kind of locked in https://www.broncoslockerroom.com/authentic-phillip-lindsay-jersey , seeing this might be the game-changing sack-fumble play, or interception — some kind of game-changing play he can make. I like the way he handles his business and like the way he competes out there.” a lot from the sideline, and now he’s heading into his fourth year of retirement, still enjoying watching Miller.
