Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork. Adidas Ultra Boost Belgie .com) - After scoring a touchdown on its first offensive play, the floodgates opened in No. 18 Clemsons 40-6 win over Oklahoma in the Russell Athletic Bowl. In relief of the injured star freshman quarterback Deshaun Watson, senior Cole Stoudt threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns on 26-of-36 passing with no interceptions to help the Tigers (10-3) complete their fourth season in a row with at least 10 wins. The Clemson defense dominated, forcing five turnovers and limiting the Oklahoma offense to 275 total yards. Artavis Scott caught eight passes for 114 yards, including his 65-yard touchdown on Clemsons first play. Mike Williams added nine catches for 112 yards and a touchdown. Samaje Perine totaled 134 yards on 23 carries, much of which came late in the game, for the Sooners (8-5). His fumble in the second quarter halted Oklahomas first drive in Clemson territory. Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight completed 17-of-37 passes for 103 yards and three interceptions with no touchdowns. After a Sooners three-and-out, Clemsons offense took the field and scored immediately on Stoudts screen pass to Scott, who got a block from Charone Peake and then made two defenders miss on his way to a 65-yard touchdown. Oklahomas defense bailed out Knight after one interception by blocking Clemsons field goal, but the Tigers did not need their offense the next time. Knights second interception in as many drives was returned by Ben Boulware for a 47-yard touchdown that put Clemson up 17-0. Down 20-0 in the second quarter, the Sooners appeared to have gotten back into the game when Charles Tapper tipped a pass in the air and then returned an interception for a touchdown, but an offsides penalty negated the score. Just three plays later, Mike Williams caught a screen pass, made a man miss and ran for a 26-yard touchdown. Oklahoma did not reach Clemson territory until its eighth possession, and it did not last long. Perine fumbled to give the ball back to the Tigers, who led 27-0 at the half. While the Sooners went three-and-out on three consecutive drives to open the second half, the Clemson offense added two more touchdowns. Stoudt ran one in from the 2-yard line and threw another scoring pass to Germone Hopper in the closing minutes of the quarter. As Oklahoma moved the ball into Clemson territory for the second time on its next drive, Keith Ford fumbled to return the ball to the Tigers. The Sooners got on the board in the fourth quarter on Alex Ross 11-yard touchdown run. The extra point was blocked, and Knight was picked off again on the next Sooners possession. A question that was repeatedly posed last season, and the season before that and in the 2011 campaign before that.DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- Roger Federer won a record sixth Dubai Championships -- and 78th career title -- by beating Tomas Berdych 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the final on Saturday. Federer, who maintains a home in Dubai, delighted a packed stadium of fans who seemed biased for the Swiss in back-to-back wins over Novak Djokovic in the semifinals and Berdych. "Things definitely went my way out here tonight," Federer said. "Ive had a lot of tough matches in the last year and a half so it was nice to get a lucky break again." The victory was hard fought as Federer lost the first serve and his serve in the second to trail 3-2. Federers win, his sixth here in the last 12 years, extends his record of winning at least one title a year to 14 consecutive years. This is Federers first tournament victory since winning in Halle, his only title of 2013, last spring. Federer improved his record over Berdych to 12-6 with the win. The last time they played, however, Berdych beat Federer in the Dubai semifinals last year. "Hes the greatest player of all time and hell never give up and give you anything for free," Berdych said. "I knew that and thought I was ready for it, but my execution wasnt good enough to hold it to the end." The loss ended Berdychs longest winning streak of his career at 11 matches. In the firstt set, the fourth-seeded Federers forehand looked shaky and he appeared a step slow. Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Kopen Goedkoop. After exchanging early service breaks, the third-seeded Berdych snared the go-ahead break in the sixth game. On a second break point at 30-40, Federer netted a backhand to lose serve. In the second set, there was another early exchange of breaks. From 4-4, Federer won the final eight points of the set to even the set score. "Everything happens very, very quickly and I was looking for better serving because thats what let me down the most in the beginning, getting broken three times in five, six service games," Federer said. Both players had break opportunities in the first two games of the third set -- Berdych three and Federer one -- but each held. Federer secured his way to victory when he broke Berdych on a second break point in the fourth game. The Swiss faced two break points on his serve in the seventh game but held on for 5-2. Berdych was able to save two Federer match points on his own serve in the eighth game. But the Czech couldnt stop Federer from serving out. On Federers third match point at 40-15 in the ninth game, Berdych netted a backhand return. "The match started pretty well and I had many chances," Berdych said. "Its very disappointing for me the way I handled that situation." ' ' '
