That was the fault of receivers such as Devin Funchess and Torrey Smith. Christian McCaffrey led the team in receiving and Jarius Wright was productive in the Panthers’ comeback. Newton remained poised in the pocket andrelied on those short and conservative passes to McCaffrey in the flats to move the chains.
