Former Hoosier baller Steve Alford left his legacy in the hands of the Indiana University men?s basketball program when he graduated in the 1980s Budda Baker Cardinals Jersey , but this former IU star and native Hoosier is now receiving the ultimate recognition for his contribution to the famed Indiana sport: a place in the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. Alford was recently selected to head the 2009 class of inductees for the Hall of Fame, becoming the eighth honoree to do in his first year of eligibility. Joining the ranks of Oscar Robertson, Rick Mount, George McGinnis, Kurt Benson, Larry Bird, Kyle Macy and Dave Colescott, this two time All American, 1987 NCAA champion and 1984 Olympic gold medalist will get his shining moment in the spotlight this spring when he is inducted in t New Mexico in 2007.
